Hi and welcome to the first blog of [hopefully] many. Seems that whilst life may be Simple for the Minds themselves,…..its far from simple to get a band passionate about great guitar, synth and vocal sounds together in the East Midlands! So, with the renewed interest in Simple Minds and the end of their current world tour it seems like a great time to put together a tribute to a truely pioneering band consisting of musicians from all over the UK.
Within one week of postings on Dreamgiver and Crashing Beats it seems theres interest out there to begin a new tribute band and re-create the classic SM sound with a little artistic license thrown in.
As the group grows and develops, the Simple Minded blog is the place to get all the latest news, gig dates and demos. Its the 14 September right now and getting something together is a little way off yet. Discussions with a keyboard player, drummer and bass player are currently in progress. All looks set to move ahead for an initial meeting in October.
